TripAdvisor Study Crowns Cape May’s Sunset Beach Best for Evening Views

Sunset Beach in Cape May County has been named the best U.S. beach for sunsets, according to a TripAdvisor review analysis. At Sunset Beach, visitors are treated to skies ablaze with brilliant oranges and reds, all set against the haunting backdrop of the partially submerged SS Atlantus shipwreck. The view has been described as both peaceful and cinematic, offering a surprising alternative to the West Coast’s famed sunsets. Despite its beauty, Sunset Beach remains a hidden gem for many, with visitors often marveling at the fact that such breathtaking sunsets can be found on the East Coast. Located near Cape May Point in Lower Township, the beach offers free access, making it an even more appealing destination for those looking to enjoy a sunset without leaving New Jersey.
Former Wonderland Pier Gets a Facelift and New Tenants for 2025 Season

The former Wonderland Pier in Ocean City is being revitalized for summer with a new arcade and pizzeria set to open Memorial Day weekend. While iconic rides like the Ferris wheel and carousel will remain closed, owner Eustace Mita plans a $150 million luxury resort on the site. The new attractions aim to maintain a vibrant Boardwalk presence while long-term plans develop. Mita will present his hotel proposal to City Council in July. Looking ahead, Mita says the planned resort could become a signature attraction for Ocean City, helping to restore some of the nearly 2,000 hotel rooms the city has lost over the past three decades. Despite differing views from preservationists who favor reviving Wonderland as a family-friendly amusement park, Mita has indicated that elements of the original park—such as the Ferris wheel, carousel, and the Wet Boats kiddie ride—will be incorporated into the hotel’s design.
East Lynne Theater to Debut New Venue at Spring Soiree Fundraiser

East Lynne Theater Company will host its annual Spring Soiree fundraiser on May 25 to launch its 45th season and unveil the restored Allen AME Church—now the Clemans Theater for the Arts—as its future home. The $125 ticket price includes appetizers, wine, and beer. Tickets are available now at TicketLeap.com. As mentioned in yesterday’s article, East Lynne is gearing up for its first mainstage production of the season, starting with Ken Ludwig’s Dear Jack, Dear Louise, running June 19 through July 12 at the Cape May Presbyterian Church. the company’s current performance space. Founded in 1980, East Lynne Theater Company has been recognized nationally for its dedication to preserving and presenting America’s theatrical heritage. Its “New Beginnings Capital Campaign” is paving the way toward establishing a permanent artistic home at the historic Allen AME Church site, combining cultural preservation with vibrant new theatrical offerings.
