‘Sail for Science’ Journey Leads to Cape May Climate Summit

The AJ Meerwald, New Jersey’s official tall ship, hosted “Sail for Science,” a three-day expedition investigating climate change impacts on the Delaware Bay and River. Aboard were scientists, educators, and conservationists who studied habitat loss, shifting bird migration, and water quality. The journey concluded in Trenton and set the stage for the Cape May Climate Summit, where the focus will turn to local solutions for global climate challenges.
Democratic Frontrunner Sherrill Visits Rio Diner Ahead of Primary

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill stopped at the Rio Diner in Cape May County as part of a seven-county tour ahead of the June 10 primary. Seen as the Democratic front-runner, Sherrill discussed housing affordability, transportation upgrades, and homelessness solutions modeled after successes in other states. She called for expanding housing through redevelopment and emphasized direct voter engagement. The Cape May County Democratic Committee has remained neutral in the primary, welcoming all candidates to the region.
Wildwoods Dog Park Ranked Among Best in U.S. by HGTV

The Wildwoods' Dog Park & Beach has been recognized by HGTV as one of the best dog-friendly spots in the U.S., the only New Jersey location on the list. Known for its giant red fire hydrant sculpture, the park offers separate areas for large and small dogs, water stations, and clean-up supplies. It complements a broader pet-friendly initiative that includes a designated dog beach area, additional parks, and dog-welcoming trails throughout the region. Visitors must adhere to local leash laws and licensing requirements, and pet-friendly accommodations are readily available.
