City Seeks State Approval for Seawall Project Linking Anglesea to Wildwood Boardwalk

North Wildwood is seeking state approval to extend its popular seawall from Third to Seventh Avenues to protect the shoreline and enhance recreational access. The $19 million project, jointly funded by FEMA, the state, and the city, aims to provide storm protection and complete a nearly five-mile pedestrian pathway. The move follows a recent settlement between the city and the DEP over past unauthorized erosion control efforts. A separate regional beach replenishment effort remains uncertain due to inter-municipal disagreements.
