Cape May Ranks Among Top Outdoor Dining Spots in the U.S.

Cape May has earned national recognition as one of the top outdoor dining destinations in the United States. A recent survey conducted by Advance Funds Network, which gathered opinions from over 3,000 food critics, ranked Cape May’s Historic District 12th out of 150 locations across the country. For those looking to explore Cape May’s outdoor dining options, the town’s official website features an extensive list of al fresco spots. Notable mentions include The Ebbitt Room,  410 Bank Street, Andrea Trattoria Italiana, Beach Plum Farm, Elaine’s, Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille, The Lobster House, Magnolia Room, Mayer’s Tavern, SeaSalt Restaurant, and Union Park Dining Room. The accolade highlights Cape May’s diverse culinary scene, which features everything from fresh-caught seafood to globally inspired cuisine. Its scenic charm and inviting dining atmospheres played a major role in securing the ranking, with many critics citing the town’s unique blend of coastal elegance and historic appeal. Cape May continues to shine as not just a beachside getaway but a top-tier dining destination that pairs exceptional food with coastal ambiance.

North Wildwood to Host Boots at the Beach Festival September 12–13

 Country music fans are in for a toe-tapping good time as Boots at the Beach returns to North Wildwood for a two-day celebration of all things country. Taking place on Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13, 2025, the festival will once again take over Seaport Pier, located at 2201 Boardwalk, delivering live music, line dancing, and Western-themed fun right by the beach. The musical roster kicks off Friday with performances by Nikki Briar and the Sweet Briar Band, Y’all Or Nothin’, and Rustic Revival. Saturday keeps the energy high with acts including Warren Montgomery and the Derailed Gang, 40 North, Triple Rail Turn, and a return performance from Rustic Revival. Admission is affordable and available only at the gate. A one-day pass costs $10 and grants access on either Friday or Saturday, while a two-day pass is available for $15. All passes include reentry privileges, giving attendees the freedom to explore the beach or boardwalk in between sets.

 Vandal Damages Iconic Humpty Dumpty at Cape May Mini Golf Course

In the early hours of Sunday, September 7, a case of vandalism was reported at the Ocean Putt Miniature Golf Course in Cape May. Around 4:04 a.m., an individual unlawfully entered the premises by scaling a fence on Jackson Street. During the break-in, the perpetrator targeted the course’s well-known vintage Humpty Dumpty figure, forcefully detaching it from its mounted location. After removing the figure, the individual transported it off-site and left it discarded several properties down Jackson Street. Authorities from the Cape May Police Department are currently investigating the incident and seeking information related to the act of vandalism.
