Fall Flavors and Fire Pits Arrive at Cape May’s Blue Pig Tavern

The Blue Pig Tavern at Congress Hall in Cape May is embracing the fall season with the debut of its newly designed outdoor bar and lounge, just in time for the town’s Oktoberfest celebrations. This latest addition transforms the tavern’s patio into a cozy walk-up bar and fire pit lounge, offering guests a relaxing and stylish spot to enjoy the cooler weather. The launch event includes a special collaboration with Old Forester, the nation’s oldest continuously bottled bourbon. Visitors can explore a curated bourbon tasting experience featuring Old Forester’s celebrated 1870, 1897, 1910, and 1920 expressions, as well as a unique Cape Resorts Signature Barrel. A “Taste Through History” session will be led by the brand’s master taster, Melissa Rift, who will also be available for meet-and-greets and bottle signings. Custom bottle engraving will be available during the event. The new patio bar isn’t just a seasonal pop-up — it’s set to remain open throughout the fall and winter months. Operating hours will be 4 to 10 p.m. on weekdays and noon to 10 p.m. on weekends, offering both locals and visitors a festive, fireside setting to enjoy food, drinks, and conversation all season long.
Music, Magic, and Beans: West Cape May Celebrates Annual Lima Fest

West Cape May is bringing back one of its most beloved—and uniquely local—traditions: the annual Lima Bean Festival. Scheduled for Saturday, October 11, the event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Backyard Park, located at 732 Broadway, just behind the firehouse. This lively community gathering pays tribute to the town’s agricultural roots and its historical claim as the former “lima bean capital of the world.” What started as a celebration of the humble legume has grown into a full-fledged fall festival that blends local flavor, creativity, and family fun. Festival-goers can expect a vibrant day filled with vendor stalls offering everything from lima bean-inspired dishes to handmade crafts, apparel, and artisanal products. Entertainment will be in full swing, with live music by Nolan Quinn and a family-friendly magic show by The Great Loudini at noon. To help with parking and ease congestion, free Jitney shuttle service will be available throughout the day. The Jitneys will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with designated stops at the festival site, Wilbraham Park, and along Park Boulevard. They’ll also stop for pedestrians heading toward the event on Broadway and Park Boulevard.
Wildwood Boardwalk Rebuild Gains Momentum with 84 Lumber's Expertise

The Wildwood Boardwalk restoration not only reinforced 84 Lumber’s reputation in large-scale municipal projects but also expanded its network of international vendors and contractors.
