Baby Boom at Cape May Zoo: More Capybara Pups Join the Family

The Cape May County Zoo has welcomed a new litter of capybara pups, as resident capybara Marigold recently gave birth to five healthy babies. This follows the recent arrival of another litter from Buttercup, another female capybara at the zoo, who delivered her pups just last month.
Both sets of offspring share the same father, Goomba, the zoo’s lone adult male capybara. With Marigold’s pups now joining the zoo’s growing capybara family, zookeepers are keeping a close eye on the newborns to ensure they stay healthy and warm during the colder months.
While the tiny capybaras are primarily being kept indoors to protect them from the chilly weather, visitors might still catch a glimpse of them from the bridge overlooking their habitat. In contrast, Buttercup’s older pups—now about a month old—are venturing outside more frequently, giving guests a better chance to spot them, especially before they’re brought in for the evening around 2:30 p.m.
The Cape May County Zoo remains open daily from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closing an hour earlier on Thanksgiving Day.
Tickets Go On Sale Dec. 4 for Gateway’s First All-Musical Season

Looking for that perfect Christmas gift for the theater lover in the family? The Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point is raising the curtain on an exciting new chapter, announcing its first-ever MainStage season made up entirely of musicals. Under the theme “A Season of Friends, Faith, Fortune, and Fun,” the 2026 season will feature four dynamic productions: You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Jesus Christ Superstar, Guys and Dolls, and 9 to 5: The Musical.
Tickets for individual performances and season passes go on sale at 8 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, dubbed “Theater Thursday” by the Playhouse. Early birds can grab tickets online at GatewayByTheBay.org, with in-person sales beginning later that day at the box office.
The 2026 season opens in February with You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, a family-friendly production celebrating perseverance and kindness through the beloved characters of Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts. It runs February 20–22 and February 27–March 1.
In April, the theater presents the powerful rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, exploring themes of faith, betrayal, and humanity. That production runs April 9–12 and April 16–19.
Next comes Guys and Dolls, the classic Broadway favorite, bringing high-energy charm and timeless music to the stage from May 28–31 and June 4–7. Set in mid-century New York, the story follows gamblers, gangsters, and a no-nonsense missionary in a tale of unlikely connections.
The season closes in the fall with 9 to 5: The Musical, based on the hit 1980 film. Featuring music by Dolly Parton, this empowering comedy about workplace equality and friendship will run September 24–27 and October 1–4.
Individual tickets are priced at $25, while season passes covering all four shows are available for just $80 through Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026 — offering a significant savings for dedicated theatergoers.
Auditions for the upcoming season will be announced soon on the Gateway’s social media platforms, with all roles open to the public. Beyond the MainStage lineup, the Playhouse also plans to launch a new “Community Spotlight” series, highlighting original works, one-act plays, and special events to further its mission of inclusion and creativity.
Morey’s Piers Slashes Prices on Passes, Tickets, and Games for 2026 Season

Wildwood’s favorite winter tradition has returned — Morey’s Piers has officially launched its highly anticipated Winter Sale, offering the biggest savings of the year on rides, water park access, games, and more. For regulars, seasonal visitors, and early planners alike, this annual event marks the perfect time to lock in major deals for the 2026 summer season.
Leading the lineup of deals is the popular Wild Pass, now available for $337.50 — a 25% drop from its usual $450 price. This pass grants unlimited access to all amusement rides and the two beachfront water parks, with one wristband per day for the entire 2026 season. Seniors aged 65 and up can also grab a deeply discounted Wild Pass for $75, down from $100. This option offers the same ride and water park benefits as the standard Wild Pass.
As summer feels far away, this annual sale offers a sunny reminder of boardwalk days to come — and a smart way to save before prices return to full fare. The Winter Sale runs for a limited time, and once it’s gone, it won’t return until next year.
