Planes, Elves, and Stormtroopers: Christmas Magic Lands at NASW Aviation Museum

Cape May County’s beloved holiday tradition is making a festive return, and it’s ready to soar. Christmas at the Hangar is back at the Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum on Saturday, November 29, 2025, transforming historic Hangar 1 into a magical winter wonderland.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., families can enjoy a full day of seasonal fun, all set among vintage warplanes and the rich history of aviation. Twinkling lights will drape across aircraft, giant holiday-themed backdrops will be positioned for picture-perfect moments, and Santa himself will be standing by for photos and wish lists.
One of the biggest draws returns with a galactic twist: costumed characters from the Star Wars universe, courtesy of the 501st Northeast Remnant and the Mandalorian Mercs Raquor’daan Clan. Their screen-accurate outfits make for unforgettable photo ops.
Children can enjoy face painting, holiday crafts, and even sit for a free caricature drawing. A new addition this year is a cheerful trackless train ride, looping through the grounds for a small donation. Meanwhile, sweet treats like hot chocolate from Stowaways and cookies from Cape May Peanut Butter Company will be handed out while supplies last.
Live holiday music will fill the hangar throughout the event, adding to the immersive experience.
Outside, popular local food trucks will be serving up warm meals, while adults can unwind in a festive beer and wine garden featuring local brews and holiday-inspired drinks. Shoppers can browse both the NASW gift shop—offering 20% off aviation-themed merchandise—and local vendors selling handcrafted seasonal goods.
Before heading out, visitors can try their luck with raffle baskets packed with holiday treasures—perfect for gifting or keeping.
Lombardi Trophy Headlines Sea Isle City's Winter Village Festivities

Sea Isle City is set to turn up the heat this holiday season—figuratively and literally—with the return of its annual Winter Village event at Excursion Park. Known as a summer hotspot, the coastal community proves once again that the fun doesn’t stop when the beach towels get packed away.
This year’s Winter Village, happening on Black Friday and the following Saturday—November 28 and 29—will feature festive favorites like heated shopping tents, holiday music, food vendors, games, photo ops, and of course, a visit from Santa Claus. But the standout addition for 2025? The iconic Lombardi Trophy is coming to town.
Thanks to a partnership between 973 ESPN, the Sea Isle Chamber of Commerce, and Heritage Surf and Sport, the NFL’s most coveted prize will be on display at Excursion Park during a special Black Friday celebration. Ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles' game against the Chicago Bears, 973 ESPN will host a live pregame broadcast with former NFL players Chris Myers and Dave Klemic, from noon to 2 p.m. at the park.
As the game winds down, Santa’s sleigh is scheduled to roll in, just in time for the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony around 6 p.m. And the festivities don’t end there—Saturday brings another round of winter magic with more shopping, food, holiday tunes, ice sculpting, crafts, and games for visitors of all ages.
Code Blue in Effect November 27–29: Emergency Shelters Open in Cape May

Cape May County officials have issued a Code Blue advisory in anticipation of a significant temperature drop this week. The advisory will be in place from 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, through 6:00 a.m. on Friday, November 29, as overnight temperatures are forecasted to dip to or below the freezing mark. Lows are expected to reach around 30°F on Thursday night and 29°F on Friday night.
The Code Blue alert is designed to safeguard vulnerable residents, particularly those experiencing homelessness, from the dangers of exposure to cold weather. Temporary shelter arrangements are being coordinated throughout the county to provide safe overnight accommodations during the advisory period.
Residents in need of shelter or assistance are encouraged to contact their local municipal offices or dial 2-1-1 for immediate help. Additional details and resources are available on the Cape May County official website.
