Coast Guard Airlifts Fisherman Showing Stroke Symptoms 70 Miles Offshore

The U.S. Coast Guard conducted a high-stakes medical rescue on Saturday morning, flying approximately 70 miles offshore to evacuate a fisherman in distress. The operation unfolded after the crew of the Ocean Prowler, a commercial fishing vessel, reported that one of their crew members was experiencing stroke-like symptoms.
The call for help came in around 10:15 a.m. to the Coast Guard’s Delaware Bay sector. In response, both air and sea units were dispatched. A 45-foot response boat launched from the Coast Guard station in Cape May, while a MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter departed from Atlantic City.
The fisherman, a 39-year-old male, required urgent medical care, prompting the helicopter crew to reach the vessel first. The helicopter crew safely hoisted the man from the deck of the fishing boat despite rough conditions, with winds gusting up to 15 knots and seas reaching five feet. He was then transported directly to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for advanced treatment.
Netflix Closes Deal on $903M Studio Campus at Fort Monmouth

Netflix has officially closed on its long-anticipated deal to acquire the former Fort Monmouth property in Monmouth County, paving the way for a massive $903 million production studio that promises to bring a wave of economic development to New Jersey.
The final sale, completed Friday, marks a major milestone for the project, which has been in development for years. Netflix purchased the 289-acre site for $55 million, including a $47 million purchase price, a $5 million utility contribution, and a $3 million relocation fee. The new studio campus will straddle both Oceanport and Eatontown, with various phases already approved by local officials.
Plans for the Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth campus include 12 soundstages totaling nearly 500,000 square feet, as well as production and office buildings, a cafeteria, retail stores, trailer accommodations for film crews, a hotel, a theater, and public attractions.
The closing of the Fort Monmouth deal came on the same day Netflix announced its headline-making $82.7 billion acquisition of Warner Bros., including its film and television studios and the HBO brand.
With construction progressing and tax agreements in place, local and state officials, along with Netflix leadership, are now focused on turning the former military base into a modern production hub that will serve both the entertainment industry and the surrounding community.
Little Snow in Forecast as Winter Begins and Holidays Approach

Astronomical winter begins in the Northern Hemisphere on Sunday, December 21 at 10:03 a.m., marking the official start of the season. The weekend will remain dry and calm, but the tranquil weather won't last for long.
A shift in the pattern is expected on Tuesday, December 23, when a new system brings a mix of precipitation across the region. Sleet or light snow is possible for northern areas, while rain is more likely farther south. Any snowfall that does occur is expected to result in little or no accumulation.
Conditions will improve just in time for Christmas Eve on Wednesday, December 24, with the sun returning and temperatures holding near normal for this time of year. On Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, skies will be mostly cloudy and temperatures will remain steady. There is only a slight chance for rain in southern parts of the region, while northern areas may see a light mix of snow showers and rain.
