Ultimate Fishing and Boating Expo Returns to the Wildwoods

The Ultimate Fishing and Boating Expo will once again take over the Wildwoods Convention Center from January 9th to the 11th, offering attendees a wide-ranging look at the latest equipment, technology and trends in saltwater and freshwater fishing, boating and marine recreation. The multi-day event is expected to draw anglers of all experience levels, from seasoned sport fishermen to families new to the hobby. Visitors will find an extensive selection of fishing rods, reels, tackle, boats and marine accessories, along with opportunities to speak directly with industry professionals and local experts. Educational seminars and demonstrations will cover topics such as fishing techniques, boating safety and gear selection, giving attendees practical knowledge they can use on the water. The expo also serves as a showcase for regional charter captains, marinas and outdoor-related businesses, highlighting the Wildwoods’ role as a hub for coastal recreation. Organizers say the event continues to grow each year, reflecting the area’s strong fishing culture and its appeal as a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to shopping and seminars, the expo is designed as a family-friendly event, with interactive exhibits and displays aimed at introducing younger visitors to fishing and boating. The return of the expo is expected to provide a boost to local tourism during the offseason, drawing visitors to restaurants, shops and accommodations throughout the Wildwoods.

Registration Open for Ocean City’s 2025 Masters Swim

Ocean City is once again welcoming swimmers of all experience levels to participate in one of the Jersey Shore’s most iconic open-water events: the T. John Carey Masters Swim. Registration is officially open for the one-mile ocean race, which will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025. A staple in Ocean City’s summer lineup since 1979, the Masters Swim draws seasoned swimmers from across the region for a scenic yet challenging course in the Atlantic. The race follows a point-to-point route that runs parallel to the beach, with its direction determined just before the start based on ocean and wind conditions to ensure safety and optimal swimming flow. Whether drawn by the competition or the atmosphere, swimmers looking to take part in this long-standing tradition can now register online. Additional details and sign-up information can be found at ocnj.us/MastersSwim.

Wildwood Crest Reopens Beach Box Rentals for 2026 Season

Wildwood Crest is reopening its beach box rental program for summer 2026. Starting January 16, past renters can renew their boxes for two weeks before registration opens to residents and the general public. Each of the 297 boxes has two compartments, and rentals cost $535.15 for the season. The boxes are built by inmates in a vocational training program. To ensure fair access, the borough is shifting away from first-come registration and will prioritize residents and property owners, with new requests handled via a waiting list and phone registration. More information will be available on the borough’s website.
