Revolution Rail Brings Scenic Rail Bike Tours Back to Cape May This Weekend!

Revolution Rail Company offers a unique outdoor adventure in Cape May that allows visitors to pedal specially designed rail bikes along historic railroad tracks. The experience begins at the Cape May Welcome Center and takes riders on a four-mile round-trip journey through scenic coastal marshland and the Garrett Family Preserve, a protected natural area known for its wildlife and native plants. The ride typically lasts about 90 minutes and is designed to be accessible for riders of all ages. Participants travel at a relaxed pace along mostly flat tracks while enjoying views of the surrounding wetlands and natural habitat. Along the way, riders pass colorful train car murals illustrating the life cycle of the monarch butterfly and stop at scenic overlooks where guides share information about the history of the rail line and the local ecosystem. One of the highlights of the trip is a stop at the Garrett Family Nature Preserve, where visitors can briefly explore walking trails through wildflower meadows and observe birds, butterflies, and other pollinators. The preserve is a popular location for birdwatching, particularly during migration seasons. The rail bikes are available in tandem models for one or two riders and quad models that can accommodate up to four people, making the experience ideal for families, couples, and small groups. Safety features such as harnesses for young children and storage baskets for personal belongings are included. In addition to daytime tours, Revolution Rail offers special twilight rides beginning in June. These evening experiences feature illuminated rail bikes, sunset views, and a stop at a fire pit where riders can enjoy s’mores while hearing stories about local legends and folklore. The rail biking season kicks off March 14 with tours scheduled throughout the day. Because the attraction is popular during the spring and summer months, visitors are encouraged to reserve their spots online in advance. The activity has become a popular way for both locals and tourists to enjoy Cape May’s natural beauty while combining light exercise with sightseeing and family-friendly fun. Stop in and see what Revolution Rail has to offer and don’t forget to ask for Jake.
Fans Say Goodbye as Jester’s Dive Bar Prepares for Final Weekend

Jester’s Dive Bar confirmed Monday that it will permanently shut down this Saturday, March 14. The announcement, shared on the bar’s Facebook page, confirmed rumors that had been circulating among locals in recent days. The post invited fans to stop by during the final week and take part in a farewell celebration planned for Saturday night. The event will feature live entertainment from the band Misguided along with music from DJ Brother Mike, giving customers one last chance to gather, celebrate, and say goodbye to the venue. Jester’s Dive Bar first opened in April 2023 after owners Bill and Megan Bumbernick purchased the former Rio Station property along Route 9. Rather than demolish the aging building, the couple chose to renovate it and transform the space into a lively dive bar that quickly built a following. The Bumbernicks are also known locally for operating The Surfing Pig and The Swine Bar in North Wildwood. Although the announcement seemed sudden to many customers, sources say the closure has been connected to ongoing negotiations to sell the property. With discussions progressing, the owners appear to have chosen this moment to close the business.
Cape May Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Washington Street Mall Burglary Suspect

Cape May Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect connected to a burglary at a business on the 400 block of the Washington Street Mall. Surveillance images released by investigators show a person who was fully masked and wearing gloves, apparently in an effort to conceal their identity during the incident. Because the suspect’s face is not visible, police are urging residents to pay close attention to other identifying features such as the individual’s clothing and shoes shown in the photos. Anyone with information that could help identify the suspect is encouraged to contact the Cape May Police Department Detective Division at 609-884-9500 as the investigation continues.
