Cape May Music Conference Returns After Six-Year Hiatus

After a years-long hiatus, the Singer-Songwriter of Cape May conference and showcase is set to return in 2026, reviving a beloved event that once drew musicians and industry professionals from across the region. Originally launched in 2008, the annual gathering quickly grew into a major fixture in Cape May’s cultural calendar. At its peak, the event featured more than 130 performers across 16 venues in the city’s historic downtown, alongside dozens of music industry experts, speakers, mentors, and panelists. The conference was traditionally held at Congress Hall, utilizing both the Grand Ballroom and the Harrison Conference Center. The event was discontinued in 2020 ahead of its 13th year, when a full lineup of performances and programming had already been planned. Now, organizers have announced its return for March 27–28, 2026. The two-day event will once again take place at Congress Hall and will include a daytime conference open to the public with registration. Attendees can expect a full schedule of panels, workshops, clinics, keynote sessions, and mentoring opportunities led by more than 50 industry professionals. See the full schedule here. In addition to the daytime programming, the event will highlight live music performances each evening after 7 p.m. at select venues throughout Cape May. These showcases will feature original artists performing a variety of formats, including solo acts, duos, trios, and full bands. All showcase performances will be free and open to the public. Known as the nation’s oldest seaside resort, Cape May provides a scenic and historic backdrop for the event, with its Victorian architecture and long-standing tradition of hosting music festivals. The return of the Singer-Songwriter of Cape May is expected to once again bring live music and industry insight to the shore community.

Cape May Tops TripAdvisor List of New Jersey’s Favorite Beaches

Cape May Beach has earned the top spot as New Jersey’s favorite beach, according to traveler rankings on TripAdvisor. The popular destination at the southern tip of the state was ranked number one not only among beaches in New Jersey but also among beaches across the entire Jersey Shore. The rankings are based on reviews and ratings submitted by travelers who have visited the area. Cape May’s continued recognition is largely tied to its unique atmosphere and well-maintained shoreline. Visitors often highlight the town’s historic Victorian charm, scenic ocean views, and relaxed coastal vibe as reasons it stands out from other beach destinations. The combination of clean beaches, picturesque streets, and a classic seaside feel gives Cape May a character that many travelers say is difficult to find elsewhere. While Cape May claimed the top ranking, New Jersey is home to many other popular shore destinations that draw visitors every summer. Beaches in communities such as Point Pleasant Beach, Asbury Park, and Long Beach Island also remain highly regarded for their boardwalks, restaurants, entertainment, and family-friendly attractions. As the summer season approaches, the recognition serves as a reminder of how strong New Jersey’s beach tourism remains. For many travelers, Cape May continues to represent the ideal Jersey Shore experience, combining natural beauty, historic character, and a welcoming beach-town atmosphere that keeps visitors coming back year after year.
