Beach Egg Hunt and Fashion Stroll Highlight Cape May Easter Celebrations

Cape May is set to host a full weekend of Easter-themed events from April 3 to April 5, 2026, offering a mix of outdoor activities and community traditions designed for families and visitors. The festivities begin with the “EggstravaganZoo” at the Cape May County Park and Zoo, where guests can take part in a daily scavenger hunt starting each morning at 10 a.m. On Saturday, April 4, children ages 10 and under can participate in a free Easter egg hunt on the beach behind Convention Hall. The event, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Cape May, starts at 11 a.m. and features hidden eggs filled with treats, along with special golden eggs that award prizes to lucky participants in each age group. The celebration continues on Sunday, April 5, with the annual Easter Fashion Stroll at Rotary Park. Registration opens at noon, followed by the stroll at 1 p.m. Participants of all ages can showcase their Easter attire in a variety of judged categories, including individual, family, and bonnet competitions, with prizes awarded to winners. With no rain dates scheduled, all events are weather-dependent. Together, these activities highlight Cape May’s tradition of welcoming spring with festive, family-friendly experiences that draw both locals and tourists to the seaside town.

Iconic Nino’s Restaurant to Reopen as Mangia Family Restaurant in CMCH

A longtime fixture in Cape May Court House is set to make a comeback as Nino’s Family Restaurant transitions into a new chapter under local ownership. After closing earlier in 2026 following a 30-year run, the well-known South Main Street location will reopen in June as Mangia Family Restaurant. The revival is being led by Peter Mancuso, a seasoned restaurateur with more than four decades of experience and the owner of Mangia Pizza and Pasta in nearby Rio Grande. The restaurant is currently undergoing renovations to refresh the space while preserving the welcoming, family-style atmosphere that made the original establishment a local favorite. Once reopened, Mangia Family Restaurant will offer a blend of traditional Italian cuisine and American dishes, with plans to expand the menu to include pizza as well as both lunch and dinner service. A soft opening is expected ahead of a larger grand opening, with efforts underway to reintroduce the restaurant to the community. Nino’s had built a strong reputation over the years, frequently attracting large crowds and long wait times during peak hours. The restaurant’s legacy began with founder Antonio Malusa, who passed away in 2021, after which the business continued under his son before ultimately closing earlier this year. The reopening not only restores a familiar dining destination but also reflects the continued growth and evolution of Cape May Court House’s local business scene. With an experienced local owner at the helm, the new Mangia Family Restaurant aims to reconnect with longtime patrons while attracting new customers looking for a classic, community-centered dining experience.

Cape May Tech Launches Expanded Summer Camp Program for Local Youth

Cape May County Technical High School is set to host its “Summertime Adventures for Kids” program, a hands-on summer camp tailored for students ages 9 to 14. The program is designed to combine fun with practical learning, offering a wide variety of classes across fields such as arts and crafts, culinary skills, robotics and engineering, marine environmental studies, public safety, and strategic games. New additions this year include sewing and textiles as well as youth sports and recreation, broadening the scope of activities available. The camp will take place over two separate week-long sessions in late July and early August, with classes held during morning hours on weekdays at the school’s Cape May Court House campus. All sessions are led by certified teachers from the technical high school, ensuring a structured and educational experience. Participants can choose from a diverse lineup of specialized programs, including carpentry, cosmetology, creative sketching, crime scene investigation, esports, baking, mechanics, robotics, and even behind-the-scenes television production. Career-themed options such as veterinary training and exploratory camps are also available, giving students exposure to potential future interests. Advance registration (Registration starts on April 15th)  is required, with enrollment opening in mid-April following the school’s spring break.
