A Teaspoon On An Empty Stomach May Remove 12Lbs Of Fat Per Week

Taken on an empty stomach, this small teaspoon habit is getting attention for how it may influence appetite signals before the first meal of the day. The idea is simple: trigger fullness sooner, reduce cravings later, and help the body use stored fat for energy instead of storing more around the waist.

Cape May County Zoo Welcomes “Leonardo DiCatprio,” a Rescued Eurasian Lynx

The Cape May County Park and Zoo has welcomed a striking new resident with the arrival of Leonardo DiCatprio, a five-year-old Eurasian lynx known as Leo. Now settled into the zoo’s Small Mammals section near the porcupines and bobcats, Leo is already drawing attention for both his appearance and his memorable name. Leo’s journey to Cape May County is an unusual one. Once kept as a pet, he was later rescued after being found roaming the streets of Long Island, New York. He spent the past four years at the Holtsville Wildlife and Ecology Center in Brookhaven before making his move to southern New Jersey. Visitors can see Leo daily during zoo hours, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., as he adjusts to his new surroundings and becomes part of the zoo’s growing animal family.

Mark Howe to Lead Ocean City’s Beloved Doo Dah Parade This Saturday

Ocean City is set to usher in the spring season with the lively return of its annual Doo Dah Parade on Saturday, April 18. The event, known for its playful and humorous spirit, will step off at noon from Sixth Street and make its way along Asbury Avenue to 12th Street. From there, the procession will turn onto the Boardwalk and loop back to Sixth Street, creating a festive route through the heart of town. A signature feature of the parade is its eclectic mix of entertainment, including marching bands, colorful floats and a crowd-favorite brigade of basset hounds. The celebration has long been a local tradition, blending lighthearted fun with community pride. This year’s grand marshal is former Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Mark Howe, a standout NHL player who spent a decade with the Flyers and reached the Stanley Cup Finals three times. Following the parade, he will greet fans during a one-hour appearance at the Ocean City Music Pier, where attendees can take photos and receive autographs.

Three Recruits Join Cape May Police, Set for Intensive Academy Program

The new recruits—Jenna Mezzacappa, Breanna Socoloski, and Jamaine Haines Jr.—mark the department’s latest effort to strengthen its law enforcement team ahead of the busy seasons.

All three officers are set to begin formal training on April 25, when they will join the 69th SLEO II Academy Class at the Cape May County Police Academy. The program is known for its intensity, requiring more than 460 hours of instruction covering criminal law, motor vehicle regulations, and professional conduct. Upon completion, the recruits will be prepared to take on active policing responsibilities within the community.
