Garden Lovers Invited to All-in-One Tour and Flower Show in Cape May

Cape May is preparing to host a unique springtime experience that blends two of the area’s most beloved gardening traditions into a single, immersive event. The Gardens of Cape May Tour, organized in partnership with Cape May MAC and the Garden Club of Cape May, will invite visitors to explore a curated selection of private seaside gardens while also enjoying a vibrant flower show. Set for Saturday, May 16, the self-guided tour will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering guests the opportunity to stroll through beautifully maintained home gardens across Cape May. The event is designed to inspire both experienced gardeners and newcomers, showcasing a variety of planting styles, landscaping ideas, and seasonal blooms. A central highlight of the day will take place at Willow Creek Winery, which will host the 2026 Cape May Garden Club Flower Show. Running from 11 a.m. until mid-afternoon, the show will feature creative floral and horticultural displays centered around a whimsical fairytale theme. Visitors can expect imaginative arrangements that blend storytelling with botanical artistry. Together, the tour and flower show create a full-day experience that celebrates gardening, creativity, and the natural beauty of Cape May.
Sea Isle City to Celebrate Arbor Day with Community Event and Tree Re-Dedication

Sea Isle City is preparing to mark Arbor Day with a community-focused celebration on Saturday, April 25, at noon inside the Community Room of the city’s new Community Center on Central Avenue. The event is being organized through a collaboration of several local groups, including the Beautification Committee, Environmental Commission, Garden Club, Green Team, Historical Society, and Shade Tree Committee. Together, they aim to highlight the importance of environmental stewardship and community pride. Attendees can expect a program featuring guest speakers, a poetry reading, and light refreshments. A key moment of the event will be the presentation of the annual “Green Thumb Award,” recognizing a municipal employee whose efforts have contributed to enhancing the city’s appearance and natural spaces. In addition to the ceremony, the celebration will include a re-dedication of several trees planted decades ago by local students. These trees, still standing on the Community Center grounds, serve as a living reminder of past community involvement and ongoing environmental commitment. The event is free and open to the public, offering residents an opportunity to come together in appreciation of Sea Isle City’s natural beauty and shared civic efforts.
Ocean City Boardwalk Gets Fresh Look Ahead of Summer 2026

Ocean City is gearing up for the summer of 2026 with noticeable upgrades to its iconic boardwalk, giving returning visitors something new to take in before peak season arrives. Construction crews have spent the past several months replacing worn sections of the boardwalk, focusing primarily on areas just north of 5th Street and between 12th and 14th Streets. The improvements are already transforming the look and feel of these stretches, with freshly installed wooden planks creating a cleaner, more polished appearance. In some areas still under construction, the boardwalk looks strikingly different. With boards removed, the underlying structure is briefly exposed—offering a rare glimpse at what lies beneath the well-traveled surface. Construction fencing and posted signage mark off work zones, guiding pedestrians safely around active areas. The ongoing maintenance reflects the reality of life along the shore. Ocean City’s boardwalk endures constant wear from heavy foot traffic as well as harsh coastal weather, making periodic replacements essential. A similar large-scale rebuild took place in 2017, when entire sections were removed and reconstructed. Where the latest work has been completed, the results are already drawing attention. The new boards stand out for their fresh look, though they won’t stay pristine for long once the summer crowds return.
