37th Annual Cape May Music Festival Returns with New Twists and Classic Performances

The full lineup has been announced for the 37th annual Cape May Music Festival, bringing a mix of new elements and returning favorites to the 2026 season. Organizers say audiences can once again expect a blend of classical performances and community-centered events that have become a hallmark of the long-running festival. This year’s festival will feature 14 concerts and will begin earlier than usual to accommodate a special performance by the Westminster Choir on May 9. The appearance coincides with the choir’s 100th anniversary and will highlight notable alumni alongside a program celebrating the history of choral music. Several familiar performers are set to return, including the annual George Mesterhazy Tribute Concert. Audiences can also look forward to performances by the Bay Atlantic Symphony, the New York Chamber Ensemble, and the New Jersey Symphony Chamber Players. Additional programming will include three Bach’s Lunch concerts and another installment of the Midday Music & More series. Continuing a popular tradition, the festival will host a free Atlantic Brass Band concert at Rotary Park on May 24, the Sunday evening before Memorial Day. Organizers note that while the festival receives support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, ticket sales alone do not cover the full cost of producing the event. As a result, the festival relies heavily on donations to sustain its mission of providing accessible and affordable musical experiences for both residents and visitors. The Cape May Music Festival is presented by the ubiquitous Cape May MAC, a nonprofit organization, and contributions to support the event are tax-deductible as permitted by law. A full schedule of performances is available on the organization’s website.
Morey’s Piers Hiring 1,500 Seasonal Workers for Summer 2026

Morey’s Piers in Wildwood has officially opened for the 2026 season and is continuing a major hiring push ahead of the busy summer months. The iconic Jersey Shore amusement destination is seeking to fill approximately 1,500 seasonal positions across its parks and attractions. Open jobs include ride operators, lifeguards, game attendants, food service staff, and several other guest service roles. Applicants as young as 14 years old are eligible to apply, making the positions a popular option for students looking for summer employment. Company officials describe the park as a fast-paced and energetic workplace focused on teamwork and customer experience. Seasonal employees can earn up to $15.75 per hour. Workers ages 18 and older are eligible for a $15.25 base wage plus up to an additional 50 cents per hour through a performance-based incentive program. Employees ages 14 and 15 may earn up to 25 cents extra per hour, while workers ages 16 and 17 may qualify for up to 50 cents extra per hour. To receive the performance payment, employees must work at least 200 hours and remain employed through the commitment date established during the hiring process. Additional details about scheduling and incentives are provided during interviews. Morey’s Piers remains one of the largest seasonal employers on the Jersey Shore each summer.
South Jersey Breweries Shine at ‘Olympics of Beer’ Competition

Four New Jersey breweries earned international recognition at the 2026 World Beer Cup, with Vineland’s Wander Back Beerworks capturing a gold medal in one of the competition’s largest and most competitive categories. Wander Back Lager won the Munich-Style Helles category after competing against 156 entries from breweries around the world. The category ranked among the five most-entered beer styles at this year’s event, further elevating the significance of the South Jersey brewery’s victory. The annual World Beer Cup, often referred to within the brewing industry as the “Olympics of Beer,” took place April 22 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Awards were presented across 114 beer style categories and five cider categories. Three additional New Jersey breweries also brought home medals. MudHen Brewing Co. in Wildwood earned a silver medal in the Robust Porter category for Captain Doug’s Porter. Odd Bird Brewing in Stockton received bronze in the Experimental Beer category for House Red, while Subculture Artisan Ales in Florence captured bronze in the Historical Beer category for Burton Reynolds. The medal wins place New Jersey breweries among top performers in one of the world’s most respected beer competitions and highlight the continued growth of the state’s craft brewing industry.
