Annual Cape May Music Festival Announces 2026 Concert Season

The Cape May Music Festival is returning for its 37th annual season, bringing six weeks of live musical performances to the seaside resort community from May 9 through June 21. Established in 1990, the festival has become a longstanding regional tradition known for presenting high-quality classical, chamber, jazz, and contemporary music in some of Cape May’s most scenic and historic venues. This year’s lineup will feature acclaimed artists, tribute performances, and a wide variety of concerts designed to provide audiences with memorable live entertainment experiences by the shore. Organizers say the festival continues to celebrate both musical excellence and Cape May’s unique cultural atmosphere, attracting residents and visitors alike for performances staged throughout the city.

Cape May Aviation Museum Hosting Rare Air National Guard F-16 Training Operation

The New Jersey Air National Guard’s 177th Fighter Wing will conduct a rare public aircraft recovery exercise on May 14 at the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum in Lower Township. The training event will simulate the recovery of a disabled F-16 Fighting Falcon and will allow museum visitors to observe military-style emergency recovery procedures up close. The exercise is scheduled to begin around 10 a.m. inside the museum’s historic World War II-era Hangar #1 at Cape May Airport. Recovery crews will use a crane and specialized inflatable transport equipment designed to move damaged or immobilized aircraft safely during emergency situations. The F-16 used in the operation is the museum’s two-seat Fighting Falcon, which joined the museum collection in 2012 through a partnership with the Atlantic City-based 177th Fighter Wing. The aircraft previously served as a training jet at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas. Officials say the training gives recovery personnel an opportunity to rehearse critical procedures used during aircraft accidents, off-runway incidents, and other emergency scenarios while also providing the public with a unique look at military aviation operations that are normally conducted on secured bases.
