The GTM bets that shouldn't have worked, and did

One grew revenue 50x after half his team quit over the strategy. One brought in 50K signups in a single day with no paid budget. One generated 100M+ views from a stunt that took 50 hours to conceive. One asked every prospect to demo the product themselves instead of demoing it for them.

None of them followed the safe playbook. They treated GTM like an experiment, moved before they had proof, and made bets most founders would never get approved.

HubSpot for Startups documented all 6 stories in the free Bold Bets Playbook. The risks they took, why it was risky, and what it returned.

Cape May’s Historic Cold Spring Village Offers Interactive Journey Into America’s Past

Historic Cold Spring Village continues to bring South Jersey’s early American history to life through immersive exhibits, educational programming, and hands-on experiences for visitors of all ages. Located on a 30-acre wooded campus along Seashore Road in Cape May, the open-air living history museum recreates life in South Jersey during the “age of homespun,” spanning roughly 1789 to 1840. The village features 27 restored historic buildings relocated from across Cape May County, where costumed interpreters demonstrate traditional trades and daily activities from the Early American era. Guests can explore blacksmith shops, woodworking stations, printing demonstrations, basket weaving exhibits, and pottery workshops while learning about the region’s cultural heritage. The village also operates a working heritage farm showcasing heirloom crops and agricultural practices from the 19th century. Historic Cold Spring Village says its mission centers on preserving and interpreting the traditions and material culture of southern New Jersey through historic preservation, heritage tourism, and educational outreach. The organization also emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility through its diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives aimed at ensuring all visitors and staff feel welcomed and respected. Beyond its regular seasonal operations, the village hosts lectures, educational presentations, and customizable programs for schools, community groups, churches, senior organizations, and professional associations. Programs are available both in-person and through virtual Zoom presentations. Several major events are planned throughout the 2026 season, including the “Down on the Farm Weekend” in June, a special Semiquincentennial Fourth of July celebration marking America’s 250th anniversary, and the popular 1800s Carnival in July featuring historic games, live entertainment, and family activities. Visitors can also enjoy modern amenities blended with the historical setting, including the Cold Spring Brewery, New Jersey’s only nonprofit craft brewery, along with an old-fashioned ice cream parlor and the Cold Spring Grange Restaurant.

New Jersey Shore Shuttle Connects Wildwoods, Cape May Breweries and Wineries

Visitors heading to the Jersey Shore this summer will have a new transportation option designed to make traveling between the Wildwoods and Cape May easier and safer. The newly launched Coastal Cruiser” shuttle service will begin operating Memorial Day weekend, offering hop-on, hop-off rides to some of Cape May County’s most popular wineries, breweries, distilleries, and tourist destinations. The shuttle, operated by Metropolis Passenger Logistics, will run Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Labor Day weekend. Organizers say the service aims to reduce impaired driving while giving tourists and locals a convenient way to explore the region without worrying about parking or navigating shore traffic. Stops along the route include Cape May Winery, Willow Creek Winery, Turdo Vineyards, Nauti Spirits, Cape May Brewery, MudHen Brewing Company, Behr Brewing Company, Cold Spring Brewery, the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal, the MAC Visitors Center, and downtown Wildwood near the boardwalk. Passengers will be able to monitor shuttle arrivals in real time through a mobile app. Day passes are priced at $40 when purchased in advance and $45 onboard, with discounted multi-day options also available.
