Issue #701

Why This Collagen Works Faster Than the Rest 🧜♀️✨
For decades, beauty has focused on quick fixes: what you put on your skin. But the most radiant glow, strongest hair, and healthiest aging begin from within.
Introducing Pique's Carrara Marine Collagen, a true breakthrough in beauty. This first-of-its-kind formula combines Type I marine collagen for visible radiance with rare Type II collagen from wild Hokkaido salmon to support deeper structural resilience. Enhanced with biotin and micronized pearl powder, Carrara helps promote smoother, more luminous skin, stronger hair and nails, and whole-body vitality.
Designed for superior absorption, you'll see results faster than with traditional collagen. Its rich coconut cream base transforms your daily routine into something indulgent. More ritual than supplement, it elevates even your morning coffee or matcha.
This is collagen, completely reimagined. Not just glow but structure. Not just results but longevity. A new foundation for beauty, built from within. 🧜♀️✨

Historic Peter Shields Inn in Cape May Sold to Local Restaurant Team

One of Cape May’s most iconic beachfront destinations is entering a new chapter. The historic Peter Shields Inn & Restaurant has officially been sold after 16 years under its current ownership, with local restaurateurs Carl and Megan Messick taking over the celebrated property. An announcement was made Thursday on their FB page. Current owners announced the sale this week, describing the decision as emotional after spending more than a decade restoring and elevating the historic property into one of the Jersey Shore’s premier fine dining destinations. Despite the ownership change, operations will continue without interruption. Existing reservations, weddings, private events, and gift cards will all remain valid throughout the transition. The incoming ownership team brings a familiar face back to the property. Before launching the popular Grana BYOB restaurant in Cape May, Carl Messick spent more than ten years as executive chef at Peter Shields Inn. Under the new arrangement, he is expected to oversee both establishments. The property is also connected to one of Cape May’s most ambitious early 20th-century development efforts. Shields played a role in the construction of the grand Hotel Cape May project, an undertaking that famously collapsed soon after opening. Over the decades, the mansion evolved from a private residence into a luxury bed-and-breakfast and eventually into one of South Jersey’s best-known fine dining destinations. The inn became especially popular for weddings, romantic dinners, and its sweeping beachfront views.
Wildwood Welcomes Back America’s Longest-Running Youth Marbles Championship

One of America’s longest-running youth sporting traditions is returning to the Jersey Shore as the National Marbles Tournament heads back to Wildwood for its 103rd year this June. The annual event will take place June 22 through June 25 at Ringer Stadium, located on the beach at Wildwood Avenue beside the Boardwalk. Young marble champions from across the country will compete for national titles, scholarships and the honor of being crowned the tournament’s “King” and “Queen” of marbles. Founded in 1922, the National Marbles Tournament has become a celebrated summer tradition in Wildwood, attracting generations of competitors and spectators while preserving the classic game of marbles and its emphasis on sportsmanship and friendly competition. The tournament features boys and girls ages 8 to 14, known as “Mibsters,” who earned spots by winning local qualifying tournaments held throughout the United States. Over the course of four days, competitors will play more than 1,200 games of “Ringer,” the traditional marble game used in the national championship. In the game, 13 marbles are arranged in the shape of an “X” inside a 10-foot circle. Players take turns attempting to knock marbles out of the ring, with the first competitor to shoot seven marbles out declared the winner. The top eight shooters advance to the semifinal rounds, while the top two boys and top two girls compete in championship “Best of 15” series matches to determine the national winners. Champions receive scholarships, trophies and national recognition, while sportsmanship awards are also presented during the tournament. As part of the tournament’s longtime traditions, the male and female winners are officially crowned the National King and Queen of Marbles during the closing ceremonies. The National Marbles Tournament is free for spectators and runs daily from 8 a.m. to noon, offering visitors a chance to experience a unique piece of Americana against the backdrop of Wildwood’s beaches, Boardwalk rides and summer attractions.
Connolly Dermatology Offices Shut Down Across Tri-State Area Amid Payroll Investigation

Patients across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware are being turned away from Connolly Dermatology offices after the regional medical practice abruptly shut down multiple locations amid mounting financial and staffing problems. The Linwood-based dermatology group, which operates more than 30 offices throughout the tri-state area, is now under investigation by the New Jersey Department of Labor following complaints that employees have gone unpaid for weeks. Several patients reported arriving for scheduled appointments in recent days only to find locked doors and no staff on site. Offices in Barnegat and Linwood were among those impacted, with notices at some locations citing staffing shortages. Employees say the situation escalated after workers were informed in mid-May that portions of the company would undergo restructuring and furloughs due to financial pressures. Staff members across multiple offices claim paychecks stopped arriving earlier this spring, with some saying they have not been paid since late April.
