Cape May Brings Back Twilight Beach Yoga and Full Moon Flows for Summer 2026

Cape May is once again inviting residents and visitors to unwind by the ocean this summer with the return of Twilight Yoga & Meditation on the Beach, a seasonal wellness series held every Sunday evening along the beachfront behind Convention Hall. Organized by Cape May City, the popular program combines guided yoga flows, meditation and oceanfront relaxation during sunset hours throughout the summer season. Classes are designed for all skill levels and offer participants a chance to practice yoga with the sound of waves and evening sea breezes as the backdrop. The weekly sessions began May 24 and will continue through Sept. 27, 2026, with classes starting at 8 p.m. There will be no class held on Sept. 6. Participants gather directly on the beach behind Cape May Convention Hall, located at 714 Beach Ave. Each class costs $10, though Cape May City fitness passes may also be used for entry. Attendees are encouraged to bring a yoga mat or beach towel along with water for the session. In addition to the weekly twilight classes, Cape May City is also offering a special series of Full Moon Beach Yoga events timed with the lunar calendar. These themed evenings allow participants to practice yoga under the glow of the full moon while enjoying the calming atmosphere of the shoreline at high tide. 2026 Full Moon Beach Yoga Schedule

  • May 31 — Blue Moon Flow

  • June 30 — Strawberry Moon Flow

  • July 29 — Buck Moon Flow

  • August 28 — Sturgeon Moon Flow

  • September 25 — Corn Moon Flow

All full moon sessions will also take place on the beach behind Convention Hall.

Cape May’s Historic Dormer House Welcomes Return of ‘Tales’ Storytelling Series

Classic American Tales (CAT) will once again bring literary performances to Cape May this summer and fall with the return of its popular “Tales at the Dormer House” series. The weekly events run Thursdays from June 4 through October 15, 2026, with the exception of July 2, at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast on Columbia Avenue. The series begins each Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Guests can enjoy lemonade and refreshments while listening to live readings of classic American literature performed on the inn’s front porch, weather permitting. Indoor seating will be available during inclement weather. Admission is $12 at the door, while Dormer House guests and children ages 12 and younger may attend free of charge. Opening the season on June 4, CAT founder and artistic director Gayle Stahlhuth presents “The Chariot Race” from Lew Wallace’s Ben Hur. The June lineup continues with a New York-themed program featuring selections from John Dos Passos and Langston Hughes performed by longtime Cape May performers Frank Smith and Stephanie Garrett. On June 18, acclaimed storyteller Michele LaRue brings two literary works by Sarah Orne Jewett and Mary E. Wilkins Freeman to the porch stage. The month concludes with actress Carolyn A. Nelson presenting stories inspired by the American West, featuring works by Stewart Edward White, Isabella L. Bird, and Owen Wister. The organization will pause porch performances on July 2 as Stahlhuth presents Margaret’s Diary During a Revolution at the Cape May Public Library as part of local celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. Beyond the Dormer House series, Classic American Tales plans several other events throughout the season, including a fundraiser featuring Guy Davis at the Cape May Point Arts and Science Center, performances at Historic Cold Spring Village, and educational theater residencies in Ocean City schools later in the year.

Cape May residents and visitors are invited to Cape May Convention Hall on Saturday, June 6, for “Gloves Up for the Blue,” a free community event combining amateur boxing, live entertainment and family activities in support of local law enforcement and youth programs. Hosted by No Limits Academy in partnership with the Cape May County Chiefs of Police Association and the Cape May Police Department, the event aims to bring the community together ahead of the busy summer tourism season while highlighting positive youth mentorship and public safety partnerships. The celebration will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cape May Convention Hall, located at 714 Beach Ave. Admission is free and open to the public. The evening’s centerpiece will feature live amateur boxing exhibitions and sparring matches involving both youth and adult participants. Organizers say the event is designed to showcase athletic discipline, confidence and teamwork while creating a welcoming community atmosphere. In addition to the boxing matches, attendees can expect a full lineup of family-friendly attractions including bounce houses, games, face painting and activities for children. Local food vendors and live music will also be featured throughout the evening. The event is organized in part by No Limits Academy, a free year-round youth development program serving Cape May County. The academy uses boxing, mentorship and academic support to help young people build self-confidence, discipline and leadership skills in a positive environment..
