Cape May’s Emlen Physick Estate Hosts Annual Summer Craft Market

The grounds of Cape May’s historic Emlen Physick Estate will transform into an outdoor marketplace during the annual Summer Crafts & Collectibles Show on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Hosted by Cape May MAC (Museums+Arts+Culture), the event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and features artisans, crafters, and specialty vendors from across the Northeast showcasing handmade goods, vintage items, artwork, collectibles, and unique gifts. Visitors can stroll through the estate’s scenic grounds while exploring a wide variety of locally crafted products and one-of-a-kind finds. The event has become a seasonal tradition in Cape May, attracting shoppers looking for coastal-inspired art, handcrafted décor, jewelry, antiques, and specialty merchandise. The show takes place at the Emlen Physick Estate, located at 1048 Washington Street. The historic Victorian property serves as one of Cape May’s most recognizable landmarks and frequently hosts seasonal festivals, tours, and cultural events throughout the year. Organizers say the event offers an opportunity to support independent artists and small businesses while enjoying a relaxed summer atmosphere in one of the region’s most historic settings.
14-Year-Old Missing After Ocean Rescue Operation in Wildwood

Emergency crews continued searching Monday evening for a 14-year-old boy who disappeared while swimming off the coast of Wildwood, New Jersey. The incident unfolded shortly before 1:30 p.m. near Schellenger Avenue after witnesses alerted a Wildwood police officer to several swimmers struggling in rough surf conditions. Authorities said no lifeguards were on duty at the time. First responders from the Wildwood Police Department, Wildwood Fire Department, North Wildwood Fire Department, and beach patrol rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene. A Wildwood police officer entered the ocean and helped rescue three swimmers from the water. One of the rescued swimmers was transported to Cooper University Cape Regional Hospital in stable condition, while two others were treated at the scene by emergency personnel. Officials later determined that a fourth swimmer, identified as a 14-year-old boy, remained missing in the water. A large-scale search operation was launched involving local, state, and federal agencies. Rescue crews searched the surf using rescue boards and marine equipment, while the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay deployed boats and aviation resources to assist. The New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau also joined the effort with boats, helicopters, and sonar technology. Authorities have not released the identity of the missing teen as the search remains ongoing.
