“Art of Nature” Workshop Returns to Cape May Point Arts and Science Center

The Cape May Point Arts and Science Center will welcome artists and nature enthusiasts alike for the return of “Art of Nature with Peach Lukens,” beginning June 8 at its Cape May Point location. The workshop series, led by longtime local artist and environmentalist Peach Lukens, will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the center located at 101 Lehigh Ave. Participants will explore a variety of artistic techniques while drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Cape Island. Designed for all skill levels, the hands-on sessions introduce attendees to multiple mediums including pen and ink, colored pencils, brush pens, watercolors, and acrylics. Instruction begins indoors before moving outside into the center’s courtyard garden, where students can observe and interpret nature directly through their artwork. Lukens, whose connection to art and the outdoors spans more than seven decades, is known for fostering a welcoming and pressure-free creative environment. Her approach encourages experimentation, personal expression, and enjoyment of the artistic process rather than perfection. Organizers say the workshop offers an ideal opportunity for beginners seeking creative exploration as well as experienced artists looking for renewed inspiration through nature-based art.
