Down on the Farm Weekend at Historic Cold Spring Village

Families looking for a hands-on agricultural experience can head to Down on the Farm Weekend at Historic Cold Spring Village on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The two-day event will give visitors an opportunity to explore farm life through interactive activities, live demonstrations, and encounters with barnyard animals. Guests can learn about traditional and modern farming practices while experiencing the daily routines that keep a working farm running. Activities include planting string beans, helping with daily farm chores, and learning how wool is transformed from sheep fleece into finished textiles through spinning and dyeing demonstrations. Visitors will also have the chance to see horse-drawn farm equipment in action and view displays of both antique and modern agricultural machinery. Animal lovers can meet a variety of barnyard residents, including Levi the horse, while gardening enthusiasts can discover tips and techniques for growing vegetables at home. The annual event offers an educational and family-friendly way to connect with the region’s agricultural heritage while enjoying a day outdoors.
Beach Blast Returns to the Wildwoods for Two Massive Summer Soccer Weekends

The Wildwoods will once again become a major destination for beach soccer as the Beach Blast Soccer Tournament returns for two action-packed weekends in the summer of 2026. The annual event will take place June 27-28, with the follow-up MORE Beach Blast tournament scheduled for July 18-19. Hosted by the Cape Express Soccer Club, Beach Blast transforms the Wildwoods’ expansive beaches into one of the largest sand soccer venues on the East Coast. More than 1,000 youth and adult teams are expected to compete across over 100 fields stretching between Baker and Poplar Avenues. The tournament features five-on-five competition played barefoot on the sand, with divisions for boys and girls ages U8 through U19, along with men’s, women’s, and co-ed open divisions. To ensure balanced competition, teams are grouped into Travel, Recreation, and Premier brackets. Matches are played on 30-by-40-yard sand fields and consist of three 12-minute periods. Teams can carry up to 10 players, with four field players and a goalkeeper on the field at a time. Each team is guaranteed at least three games, with advancing teams eligible for a championship match. One of the tournament’s signature rules is that all players must compete barefoot. Socks, tape, and approved ankle supports are permitted, but footwear is prohibited. Beyond the competition, participating teams can take advantage of special perks tied to the Wildwoods’ famous boardwalk attractions. Accepted youth teams receive 10 wristbands granting access to Morey’s Piers amusement rides and waterparks throughout tournament weekends. Discounted ride and waterpark packages are also available for family members and friends.
Cape May Moves Forward on Seawall Project with Nearly $30 Million in Funding

Cape May is moving forward with a major seawall and Promenade reconstruction project backed by nearly $30 million in funding. The project includes a $24.3 million FEMA grant, a proposed $4.3 million contribution from Cape May County, and a possible additional $1 million from the Ocean Wind Preservation Project. Plans call for extending and elevating the seawall and Promenade between Madison and Wilmington avenues to improve protection from flooding, erosion, and coastal storms. Construction is expected to begin in late 2026 after final approvals are secured.
