ELTC Launches Pirate-Themed Summer Theater Workshop for Youth

East Lynne Theater Company will host a pirate-themed summer theater workshop for young performers ages 11 to 17 this July in Cape May, offering participants the chance to develop acting and teamwork skills while preparing for a live public performance. Led by workshop instructor Sally Bingham, the program promises an imaginative, action-filled experience centered around treasure hunts, pirates, and theatrical adventure. Organizers say the workshop is designed for students of all experience levels, including those interested in performing onstage or assisting behind the scenes. The program’s mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and professional environment where young people can explore theater arts without the pressure of auditions. ELTC emphasizes accessibility and welcomes beginners alongside more experienced participants. The workshop includes nine sessions running Monday through Friday, July 20–24, and Monday through Thursday, July 27–30. Daily sessions are scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cape May Presbyterian Church, located at 500 Hughes Street. The workshop will conclude with a free public performance by students on Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m. Enrollment is limited to 15 participants. Students ages 11 to 17 are eligible, though younger children may participate if accompanied by a sibling who meets the age requirement. The registration fee is $250, payable in installments, with full payment due by July 1. Refunds are available for cancellations made before June 30, minus a $50 retention fee after that date.
