Fireworks Set to Light Up Cape May County This Week

Cape May County residents and visitors will have several opportunities to enjoy Independence Day fireworks, with celebrations taking place across the region throughout the week. The festivities begin on Wednesday in Middle Township, where fireworks are scheduled at the Okie Wisting Recreation Complex in Rio Grande. On Friday, displays are planned in North Cape May, with fireworks launching from a barge off Bay Avenue; Stone Harbor, with the show taking place offshore near 82nd Street; and Wildwood, where fireworks will be launched from the beach at Pine Avenue. The busiest night of the week will be Saturday, with fireworks scheduled in Avalon along the beach, Cape May offshore near Congress Hall, Ocean City off the beach near the Music Pier, and Sea Isle City from a barge off the beach near 50th Street.  Residents and visitors are encouraged to arrive early, expect increased traffic near event locations, and check with local municipalities for any weather-related schedule changes.

America 250-Themed Anglesea Nights Set for July 2 in North Wildwood

North Wildwood will kick off Independence Day festivities with a special America 250-themed edition of Stars, Stripes & Anglesea Nights on Thursday, July 2., The free event will take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Anglesea Entertainment District along Olde New Jersey Avenue, offering an evening of patriotic entertainment, food, shopping and family-friendly activities. The celebration will feature a dozen food trucks, local market vendors, live music, street performers and stilt walkers throughout the evening. A highlight of the festival will be a performance by the Philly Fife & Drum Corps, bringing Revolutionary War-era music and patriotic pageantry to the streets of Anglesea. Visitors can stroll the entertainment district while enjoying specialty foods, handmade merchandise and a festive red, white and blue atmosphere as North Wildwood joins communities across the country in recognizing America's 250th anniversary. Stars, Stripes & Anglesea Nights is free and open to the public. The event also marks the first of four Anglesea Nights festivals scheduled this summer. Additional dates are July 16, July 30 and Aug. 13, each running from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The seasonal series features food trucks, shopping, live entertainment and street performers in North Wildwood's popular Anglesea Entertainment District.

Cape May's Summer Dance Series Begins July 1

 Cape May Dance Nights Return to Convention Hall This Summer Cape May is inviting residents and visitors to hit the dance floor this summer during its free Wednesday Dance Nights at Cape May Convention Hall. The weekly events will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the summer, featuring a variety of dance styles for all ages and experience levels. The schedule includes Country Line Dancing on July 1 and Aug. 19, Kid's Dance Party on July 8 and Aug. 26, Latin Night on July 15 and Aug. 12, Popular Line Dance on July 22, and Ballroom Dancing on Aug. 5. The free events are open to the public and offer a fun evening of music, dancing and family-friendly entertainment in the heart of Cape May.
