Cape May Welcomes The Stylistics for an Evening of Classic Soul Favorites
Issue #740

California. Texas. The Billboard Hot 100. It's all on Kalshi.
The California governor primary is live right now. So is the Texas Senate race, the 2028 presidential field, and the question of whether Taylor Swift releases a song for Toy Story 5.
Political and cultural markets on Kalshi move in real time — as news breaks, odds shift. Which means someone who reads closely, follows polls, and actually pays attention to what's happening has a genuine edge over someone who doesn't.
On Kalshi, information is the advantage. The platform is federally regulated under the CFTC, with no house edge and no restricted winners. Every dollar traded reflects real collective intelligence about what's going to happen.
If you're already following politics and culture closely, Kalshi turns that attention into an asset.

Cape May Welcomes The Stylistics for an Evening of Classic Soul Favorites

Fans of classic soul music will have the opportunity to relive some of the genre's most beloved hits when The Stylistics perform at Cape May Convention Hall on Sunday, July 12, 2026, as part of the city's Summer Concert Series. The legendary vocal group traces its roots to Philadelphia in 1966, when members of two rival high school singing groups joined together under the guidance of educator Beverly Hamilton to form The Stylistics. Their breakthrough arrived in 1970 with the regional success of "You're a Big Girl Now," which topped charts in Philadelphia and gained popularity throughout the East Coast. That early momentum led to a partnership with acclaimed producer Tom Bell, resulting in the group's self-titled debut album. The record launched a string of enduring soul classics, including "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)," "You Are Everything," and "Betcha by Golly, Wow." The album produced six hit singles and earned Grammy Award recognition, helping establish The Stylistics as one of the defining voices of the Philadelphia soul sound. Today, original members Herbert Murrell and Airrion Love continue to tour nationally and internationally, keeping the group's musical legacy alive for longtime fans and new audiences alike. The Stylistics have received numerous honors over the years, including a place on the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame and recognition in the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. The Cape May performance will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. at Cape May Convention Hall, 714 Beach Avenue. Tickets range from $61.10 to $72.09, depending on seating. Concertgoers can expect an evening filled with timeless favorites, including "You Make Me Feel Brand New," "I'm Stone in Love With You," and "You Are Everything."
Wildwood Emergency Crews Save Nine in Back-to-Back Water Rescues

Nine swimmers were rescued Sunday evening after two separate ocean emergencies unfolded just minutes apart off unguarded beaches in Wildwood, highlighting the dangers of entering the water after lifeguards have gone off duty. The coordinated rescue involved the Wildwood Beach Patrol's after-hours response team, along with Wildwood police officers and firefighters, who responded quickly to reports of swimmers struggling in the surf. All nine individuals were safely brought back to shore. Witnesses described the response as swift and highly organized, with emergency crews arriving almost immediately to assist those in distress. The rescues occurred only days after New Jersey officially recognized open-water lifeguards as first responders. The new designation acknowledges the critical role lifeguards play in emergency response and provides access to benefits and support programs available to other first responders, including assistance for families in the event of a line-of-duty death. Officials continue to remind beachgoers that the safest time to swim is only when lifeguards are on duty. Entering the ocean at unguarded beaches or after lifeguards leave for the day significantly increases the risk of serious injury or drowning, particularly when dangerous rip currents are present. The Wildwood Beach Patrol also reminds visitors that Wildwood beaches are closed to the public from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., and swimmers should always follow posted safety warnings and beach regulations.
Wildwoods Air Show Announces F-22 Raptor as Featured Performer

The Wildwoods Air Show will return to the Jersey Shore on Sept. 12–13, 2026, with one of the world's most advanced fighter aircraft taking center stage. The U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team will headline the free, two-day event, performing high-speed aerial maneuvers over the beaches of Wildwood. The annual air show has become one of the region's premier attractions, drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators to Wildwood, North Wildwood and Wildwood Crest for a weekend of aviation displays and family-friendly entertainment. The F-22 Raptor is recognized for its exceptional speed, agility and advanced technology. Powered by twin engines with thrust-vectoring capability, the aircraft can perform dramatic vertical climbs, tight turns and other precision maneuvers while demonstrating the capabilities of one of the U.S. Air Force's premier fighter jets. Air show performances are scheduled daily from approximately noon to 3:30 p.m. Visitors can watch from any beach or Boardwalk location, with the main viewing area centered near Lincoln Avenue between Morey's Mariner's Pier and Adventure Pier. Several additional performers have already been confirmed. The New Jersey Air National Guard's 177th Fighter Wing will conduct an F-16 flyby, while the Jersey Jerks formation team will showcase vintage North American SNJ/T-6 Texan trainers that helped prepare military pilots during World War II. The lineup also includes a rare MiG-17 fighter jet, along with aerobatic pilots Patrick McAlee in his Pitts S1S "Blue Demon," David Windmiller flying an Edge 540, and RJ Gritter performing in his patriotic Decathlon aircraft. Organizers expect to announce more performers later this summer.
