Haunted Tales of the Cape Trolley Tour Returns for Summer Fridays

Looking for a spooky summer evening in Cape May? Cape May MAC's Haunted Tales of the Cape Trolley Tour offers guests a chance to explore the city's haunted history while traveling through the Historic District after dark. The evening begins aboard a trolley, where guides share some of Cape May's latest ghost stories and paranormal legends gathered from local residents and longtime staff members at the 1879 Emlen Physick House Museum. As the trolley winds through the city's gas-lit streets, guests hear tales of unexplained encounters and the people who believe Cape May's past is still very much alive. Visitors can choose from two unique experiences. The Haunted Tales of the Cape Combo Tour continues at the Emlen Physick Estate, where guests leave the trolley and tour select rooms inside the historic Victorian home. Along the way, guides explore the Victorian fascination with Spiritualism, demonstrating the methods and objects once used in attempts to communicate with the spirit world while recounting stories of mysterious occurrences reported inside the house. Those selecting the Haunted Tales of the Cape Trolley Tour & Dessert at Vintage will conclude the trolley ride at the Emlen Physick Estate's Vintage Restaurant. There, guests can relax over dessert while discussing the evening's ghost stories before boarding a shuttle back to the Ocean Street Trolley Stop. Tours are offered on Friday evenings from July through September. All tours begin and end at the Ocean Street Trolley Stop, with the dessert option including shuttle transportation back after the experience.

Ocean City Lights Up Summer with Weekly America 250 Drone Show

Summer evenings in Ocean City are taking on a new look as the resort launches "America 250: Lights Over Ocean City," a free weekly drone light show celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary. The 15-minute performances take place every Monday after dusk through Aug. 17, with hundreds of synchronized drones illuminating the sky above the beach and boardwalk just south of Sixth Street. The choreographed displays feature patriotic-themed images and animations, offering a modern alternative to traditional fireworks. Designed as a family-friendly attraction, the show adds another reason for visitors and residents to spend Monday evenings along Ocean City's beachfront. The illuminated drones can be viewed from a wide stretch of the beach and boardwalk, allowing spectators to enjoy the performance from multiple vantage points. The weekly event is funded through a partnership that includes a $25,000 grant from the Cape May County Board of Commissioners, sponsorships from Ocean City boardwalk merchants, and support from the City of Ocean City. With the combination of ocean views, the bustling boardwalk, and a high-tech aerial display, the new drone show is expected to become one of the highlights of the 2026 summer season.
