Cape May Concert Series Welcomes A.J. Croce

Singer-songwriter and pianist A.J. Croce will bring his acclaimed Croce Plays Croce tour to Cape May Convention Hall on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, as part of the city's Summer Concert Series.

The performance, scheduled from 8 to 10 p.m. at the convention hall on Beach Avenue, will celebrate the music of Croce's late father, legendary folk singer Jim Croce, while also highlighting A.J. Croce's own work and the artists who influenced both generations of musicians.

Audiences can expect to hear many of Jim Croce's most beloved songs, including Operator, You Don't Mess Around with Jim, Time in a Bottle, Rapid Roy (The Stock Car Boy) and Lovers Cross. The show will also feature selections inspired by folk, blues and early American roots music, including works associated with songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller and blues pioneer Bessie Smith.

Jim Croce remains one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters of the 1970s. Despite a career that was cut short, his influence has endured for decades through enduring hits such as Bad, Bad Leroy Brown, Operator and Time in a Bottle. His recordings have sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, producing three chart-topping singles and 10 Top 10 hits.

Over the course of a 30-year career, A.J. Croce has built an impressive musical legacy of his own. His catalog includes 10 studio albums and 20 Top 20 radio singles spanning the Top 40, blues and Americana genres. Recognized as a gifted pianist and songwriter, Croce has appeared on major television programs, delivered a TED Talk, taught a master class at the University of Barcelona and shared the stage with artists including Willie Nelson, Lenny Kravitz, Earth, Wind & Fire and B.B. King.

The Cape May appearance is expected to offer audiences a blend of storytelling, musicianship and family history while honoring one of America's most enduring musical legacies.

The concert also arrives during a milestone year for Cape May as the city commemorates the 175th anniversary of its incorporation alongside celebrations connected to the nation's semiquincentennial.

 

Wildwood Tattoo Beach Bash Returns with Three Days of Ink, Entertainment and Art

The Wildwood Tattoo Beach Bash returns to the Wildwoods Convention Center Aug. 7-9, bringing three days of live tattooing, entertainment, competitions and vendors to the Jersey Shore.

Hosted by Villain Arts, the 16th annual event will feature more than 200 tattoo artists from across the country, offering attendees the chance to get tattooed on-site, watch world-class artists at work and experience one of the East Coast's largest tattoo conventions.

Visitors can browse artist portfolios, schedule appointments or take advantage of walk-in opportunities to receive tattoos throughout the weekend. The convention also features tattoo competitions recognizing both newly completed artwork and existing tattoos in a variety of categories.

Special guests include Ink Master alum Cleen Rock One and renowned tattoo artist Al Fliction, who will join artists from across the United States for the three-day event.

Beyond tattooing, attendees can enjoy a full lineup of live entertainment, including suspension acts, contortion performances, birds of prey demonstrations and other sideshow attractions. A vendor marketplace will offer tattoo-related merchandise, original artwork, custom body jewelry, apparel and specialty products.

The Wildwood Tattoo Beach Bash welcomes seasoned tattoo enthusiasts as well as first-time visitors interested in learning more about the art form while enjoying the lively convention atmosphere.

The event runs from 2 to 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at the Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk in Wildwood.

Admission is $20 for a one-day pass or $40 for a three-day pass. Children ages 12 and younger are admitted free. Tickets are available online and at the door. Additional information and a complete schedule of events are available through Villain Arts.

Cape May County Chamber Announces Annual Legislative Update Featuring Rep. Jeff Van Drew

The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce will host U.S. Congressman Jeff Van Drew, who represents New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District, as the featured speaker at its Annual Legislative Update and Membership Meeting on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, at South 9 Bar & Grille in Cape May Court House.

The event is sponsored by Triad Associates, Wiser Insurance, and Atlantic Title Agency.

During the luncheon meeting, Van Drew will provide an update on legislative priorities and issues affecting Cape May County, South Jersey, and the nation. A question-and-answer session will follow, giving Chamber members an opportunity to discuss matters impacting the local business community and regional economy.

The Chamber said the annual Legislative Update is one of its signature events, designed to keep members informed about public policy issues while providing direct access to elected officials and their perspectives on government initiatives.

The program will begin with check-in at 11:30 a.m., followed by the meeting at noon. The event will be held at South 9 Bar & Grille, located at 1010 South U.S. Highway 9 in Cape May Court House.
