Skincare built by longevity scientists

Most skincare treats the symptoms of aging. OS-01 FACE was built by longevity scientists to address the cause. With age, some skin cells stop functioning – accelerating the visible skin decline that most skincare was never designed to address. OneSkin is different.  Patriot Day Remembrance Returns to Cape May’s Cove Beach Sept. 11

Cape May will honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and recognize the sacrifices of first responders during its annual Patriot Day remembrance ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026.

The ceremony, co-hosted by the City of Cape May and the Kiwanis Club of Cape May, is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Cove Beach along Beach Avenue.

The annual gathering commemorates the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and aboard Flight 93. It also recognizes police officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel and others who responded to the attacks and their aftermath.

Local community leaders and representatives of area organizations are expected to participate in the ceremony, focusing on remembrance, service and the sacrifices made by first responders.

The observance will include a moment of silence as the American flag at the Cove is lowered for the season, adding a longstanding Cape May tradition to the Sept. 11 commemoration.

The event is free and open to the public. Because seating is limited, attendees are encouraged to bring beach chairs.

The ceremony begins at 6 p.m. Sept. 11 at Cove Beach on Beach Avenue in Cape May City.

First-Floor Kitchen Complicates Dock Mike’s Housing Application

The Planning/Zoning Board postponed action Aug. 4 on Doc-1 LLC’s proposal involving residential space at Dock Mike’s Pancake House after discovering an existing first-floor residential use requires additional zoning relief.

Residential uses are permitted in the borough's commercial zones when located above a commercial use. The issue arose because the property has long contained a residential kitchen on the first floor, dating back to when the building operated as the Well Massage Center.

The board granted the applicant a 60-day conditional adjournment to revise its plans and determine the necessary variances. Separately, board members discussed improving the borough’s system for tracking construction and development projects that do not come before the Planning/Zoning Board.

Cape May Weighs $7.5M Contribution to Add and Upgrade Affordable Housing

The Cape May Housing Authority is asking the city for $7.5 million toward a $52.4 million redevelopment of its aging housing complex. The five-year plan would renovate 85 existing subsidized units and construct 24 additional homes, bringing the property to 109 units. It also calls for property improvements and approximately 35 additional parking spaces. CMHA expects to finance roughly $45 million through mortgages, low-income housing tax credits and other sources. City officials are considering using affordable-housing funds and other municipal financing to cover the local contribution, but the request still requires further negotiations and council action.
