Classic Cars and Country Fall Fun Take Over Rea’s Farm

Classic cars, trucks and tractors will share the farm with pumpkins, hayrides and plenty of fall fun when Hot Rods & Hayrides returns to Rea’s Farm Market in West Cape May. The family-friendly fall event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hot Rods & Hayrides combines a car and tractor gathering with the atmosphere of a working preserved farm, giving visitors a chance to enjoy both automotive displays and traditional autumn activities in one setting.

Visitors can expect to see a collection of cars, hot rods, trucks and tractors from the past and present displayed around the farm. Vendor booths will also be part of the event, along with food and music throughout the day.

But the vehicles are only part of the attraction. Guests can take a hayride through the farm, explore a corn maze and enjoy the sights and flavors of the fall harvest. Fresh vegetables, pumpkins and other seasonal offerings will add to the traditional farm atmosphere.

The setting distinguishes Hot Rods & Hayrides from a typical car show, with vehicles displayed against the backdrop of an active Cape May County farm.

Rea’s Farm Market is a preserved working farm in West Cape May, making the event an opportunity to combine a day of checking out vehicles with classic fall activities.

Previous descriptions of the annual event have also featured vintage tractors and other agricultural elements alongside the hot rods and classic vehicles.

Whether visitors come for the cars and trucks or are more interested in pumpkins, hayrides and the corn maze, organizers are promoting the event as a day of fall entertainment for all ages.

Hot Rods & Hayrides takes place Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Rea’s Farm Market in West Cape May.

Cape May County Officials Warn Families After Unusual Meth Seizure

Cape May County authorities are warning parents and caregivers after Wildwood police seized colorful and unusually shaped methamphetamine that officials say could potentially be mistaken by children for candy or vitamins.

The investigation began on Sept. 17, 2026, when Wildwood patrol officers responded to the 200 East block of Spencer Avenue for a report of an individual with a handgun. Police identified the suspect as 36-year-old Mark Davis of Vineland. During the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant on Davis’ vehicle and allegedly recovered a handgun along with suspected narcotics.

The Cape May County Forensic Laboratory later tested the substances and confirmed they contained methamphetamine, according to authorities. Officials said the appearance of the drugs was particularly concerning because their bright colors and unusual shapes could attract the attention of children who may not recognize them as dangerous substances.

Davis faces several charges, including second-degree possession of a weapon, second-degree certain persons not to possess a weapon, second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The charges are accusations, and Davis is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

New Details Released After Fatal Middle Township Police Shooting

Two Middle Township police officers fatally shot a 37-year-old man Friday after authorities say they found him holding a knife to a woman’s throat inside a disabled vehicle in Rio Grande. The woman suffered multiple stab wounds and was hospitalized. Family members identified the man as Andre Moore and told 6abc that he had struggled with his mental health in recent months. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating the police shooting.
