Something Witchy This Way Comes: Cape May’s Original Witch Walk Is Back

Dust off those broomsticks, straighten those pointy hats and gather your favorite witches and warlocks. Cape May’s Original Witch Walk is back by popular demand, promising a spirited Halloween experience filled with local flavors, festive fun and a little supernatural mystery.

Presented by Cape May Food Tours in collaboration with The Sea Witch of Cape May, the themed walking tour this Friday October 30th , invites participants to experience a different side of the historic seaside town as they make their way through Cape May's charming streets and visit local establishments.

With three spooky stops planned, the event combines the social atmosphere of a night out with the seasonal excitement of Halloween. Participants can look forward to a festive evening featuring local food and drinks, opportunities to mingle with fellow Halloween enthusiasts and an atmosphere inspired by Cape May's haunted history.

The event's promotional materials highlight several participating Cape May establishments, including The Inn of Cape May, Bees Knees Kitchen and Speakeasy Bar, Carney's Restaurant and Leone's Cape May.

While the walk promises three featured stops, organizers have also hinted at the possibility of an additional spooky surprise to bring the evening to a memorable conclusion.

Cape May's Victorian architecture, historic inns and long-standing reputation for ghostly tales provide a fitting backdrop for the Halloween-themed experience. The city's atmospheric streets and rich history have made it a popular destination for visitors interested in paranormal stories, ghost tours and seasonal festivities.

The Original Witch Walk offers a playful way to embrace that tradition while supporting local restaurants and businesses.

The event has also featured connections to local authors Kristi and Lucia DeSimone, associated with The Sea Witch of Cape May and Tide and Times Experiences. Previous promotional activities have highlighted charitable support for local animal shelters, adding a community-minded element to the festivities.

Whether attending with a group of friends, planning a Halloween outing or simply looking for a different way to experience Cape May after dark, the Witch Walk offers a chance to enjoy the town's seasonal atmosphere with fellow revelers.

And while the event's organizers are keeping the possibility of a special final surprise under wraps, one thing is clear: Cape May's witches and warlocks have another reason to celebrate the Halloween season.

Registration and additional information are available at capemayfoodtours.com. Participants should check with the organizer for available dates, departure times, pricing and confirmed stops before registering.

Owners of Littleworth Tree Farm Say It's Time to Pass the Christmas Magic to Someone New

After more than 30 years of bringing Christmas magic to families throughout Cape May County and beyond, Karl and Janet Yunghans have announced their decision to sell their beloved Littleworth Tree Farm in Upper Township.

Located on Tuckahoe Road, the popular Christmas tree farm has been listed for $1.4 million, marking the end of an unforgettable chapter for the couple who spent decades building the business and creating cherished holiday traditions for generations of families.

The Yunghans purchased the property in 1990 and began planting Christmas trees with the help of family members. The farm sold its first trees in 1997 and has since grown into a popular seasonal destination, featuring more than 6,000 Christmas trees. Many families have returned year after year, with some now bringing their children and grandchildren to experience the same holiday traditions.

The 9.45-acre property includes approximately 8.5 acres of preserved farmland, a four-bedroom farmhouse, a large barn, and an established agricultural business. In addition to its choose-and-cut Christmas tree operation, Littleworth Tree Farm offers seasonal strawberries, blueberries, honey, and holiday wreaths.

Karl and Janet explained that the decision to sell comes as the physical demands of maintaining the farm have become increasingly difficult with age. The couple has purchased a waterfront home along the Tuckahoe River, just four miles away, where they look forward to beginning the next chapter of their lives.

Although saying goodbye is bittersweet, their greatest wish is to find new owners who will care for the property, continue its traditions, and preserve the special connection the farm has built with the community.

For generations of Cape May County families, Littleworth Tree Farm has been more than a place to buy a Christmas tree. It has been a place where holiday memories are made, family traditions are passed down, and the spirit of Christmas comes alive.

Anyone interested in purchasing the farm can contact Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach.

Voices from Beyond: Cape May Ghost Tour Reveals Unexplained Sounds and Images Inside Historic Mansion

Cape May's historic Emlen Physick Estate is inviting visitors to explore its mysterious reputation during the Voices from Beyond House Tour, a daytime paranormal experience presented by Cape May MAC.

Located at 1048 Washington Street, the 1879 Victorian mansion is one of Cape May's most recognizable historic landmarks and has long been associated with reports of unexplained activity.

Unlike traditional ghost tours, Voices from Beyond features actual audio recordings and photographs collected by museum staff during years of paranormal investigations inside the home. Visitors can listen to electronic voice phenomena, commonly called EVPs, and examine unusual images that some believe may show evidence of ghostly presences.

The experience also explores the history of the Physick family, the mansion's Victorian architecture, and the methods used by paranormal investigators to document unusual occurrences.

Although the recordings and photographs are subject to interpretation, they provide a fascinating look at the stories and mysteries surrounding the historic estate.

Admission is listed at $25 per person, and visitors can find tour schedules and ticket information through Cape May MAC.

Whether you're fascinated by ghost stories, interested in Victorian history, or simply looking for a unique Cape May experience, Voices from Beyond offers an unusual opportunity to explore the city's haunted reputation in broad daylight.

Answer: D) 3,500

The Mount Vernon Hotel, constructed in 1852 on the west end of Cape May's oceanfront, was designed to accommodate 3,500 guests, making it the largest hotel in the world at that time. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by fire in 1856 before its completion.
